Curriculum Resources
Tufts Health Care Institute's (THCI) Curriculum Guide on Managing Care: A Systems-based Approach is a resource for training new physicians. THCI developed the Guide to help program directors and affiliated faculty teach residents and medical students the tools and techniques used by physician practices, integrated delivery systems, and managed care organizations to provide high quality, cost-effective, patient-responsive care. The lesson plans and teaching materials relate particularly to the competencies of Systems-based Practice and Practice-based Learning and Improvement, two of the areas that are now required by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
The Guide contains lesson plans, content summaries in slide format, cases and practice scenarios, references, quizzes, and other instructional materials for 12 sessions.
